What Toastmasters Do

A toastmaster is the voice of authority at any function, ensuring that all the planned events happen on time and as required. He will advise beforehand on correct protocol at formal occasions, on matters such as announcing guests, toasts, wordings for toasts, Grace, speeches etc, whilst incorporating all your own wishes. He will then run the function, ensuring that all your plans are implemented as desired.

He will welcome your guests as they arrive and announce them if required, announce dinner or the start of the occasion and announce any formal parts of the occasion such as the speeches and toasts. He will liaise on your behalf with the hotel or caterers and generally ensure that your event is problem free, leaving you able to relax and enjoy it, whilst lending the proceedings a certain dignity, style and panache.

Toastmastering is the speciality of Jonathan Davies who has been running weddings, functions and formal occasions for over ten years. A professional in the hotel and catering business, he has worked as head of conference and banqueting in a number of top class hotels and now operates as Guest Relations Manager in one of the five star hotels in the Rocco Forte Group, where he is also the official toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies for all their formal occasions, dinners, weddings, parties, conferences and receptions of all kinds.

He wears the official Toastmaster regalia of black trousers, red tail coat, white shirt, waistcoat and gloves, and using a hand-carved gavel and a trained voice, he will add style and class to any occasion.

Based in South Wales, Jonathan is available for functions throughout the UK and Ireland. Although not fluent in other languages, he can make announcements for multi-lingual groups in French, German, Italian and Welsh if pre-warned.
